Each day more people from around the world discover the importance and modern relevance of President Lincoln’s Cottage. Due to various uses by the Armed Forces Retirement Home (formerly known as the Soldiers’ Home), the Cottage was not open to the public. Since 2000, when we began the project to restore and open the Cottage to the public, the press has played a welcome and pivotal role in resurrecting President Lincoln’s Cottage in popular memory.
