To mark a new year, President Lincoln’s Cottage staff honored the anniversary of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation (January 1, 1863) by reading favorite passages from the document, which was conceived of here at the Cottage.
Thank you to you everyone who supported the Cottage this past giving season! We are excited for the upcoming year — with programs and activities that bring Lincoln’s legacy into the present day and challenge visitors to look at history in new ways— all things that you make possible.
We want to share a special thank you for those who supported our Giving Tuesday campaign. Together, we surpassed our goal of $10,000 to resurface the gravel pathway, supplementing a large federal grant for the project. This improvement will make the Cottage more accessible for all visitors.
