The Civil War and the End of Slavery: PBS's "Many Rivers To Cross"

The African-Americans: Many Rivers to Cross,” a documentary series written and produced by Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr., covers the arc of African-American history from the 16th century to the present. President Lincoln’s Cottage is featured in the third episode, which examines the Civil War and Reconstruction. In the episode, Dr. Gates discusses emancipation with Dr. Thavolia Glymph inside the library at President Lincoln’s Cottage.
