Michelle Martz

Visitor Engagement Manager

Michelle Martz has worked at President Lincoln’s Cottage for eight years in total, working to ensure meaningful visitor experiences through tours, public programming, and events. She began as a historical interpreter in 2012 while working on her MA in Museum Studies at The George Washington University. She earned her degree in May of 2014. Michelle has BAs in both Historic Preservation and History from the University of Mary Washington. In the spring of 2014, she left her role as a historical interpreter for a full-time position in the Public Programs Department at the Smithsonian Museum of American History. She returned to President Lincoln’s Cottage in the fall of 2014 as the Program Coordinator. In the fall of 2017, Michelle was promoted to Visitor Services Manager.
