“I leave it to my audience: If I had two faces, would I be wearing this one?”
– Abraham Lincoln, 1858
Drawing inspiration from Abraham Lincoln’s legendary humor and self-deprecation, President Lincoln’s Cottage and The DC Improv are again partnering to present Two Faces Comedy, the first comedy series to transform Lincoln’s living room into a comedy den! Each show is meant to be inspired by some aspect, silly or serious, of Lincoln’s legacy or the history of the Cottage.
This will be a series of comedy nights, beginning on September 24 and ending on December 15. Doors open at 7pm, all shows begin at 7:30pm.

September 24: Immigration
The September show revisits the theme from the first ever Two Faces show in 2016: Immigration. Lincoln was a staunch advocate of immigration, and every comic on this lineup is either an immigrant or comes from an immigrant family.
- Featuring: Rahmein Mostafavi, Dee Ahmed, Justin Um, Benny Nwokeabia. Full bios HERE.
October 7: The Washington Roast: Political Brawling
More info coming soon!
November 4: Veterans
The November show has the theme of “veterans.” Lincoln was surrounded by soldiers and veterans at the Cottage, and this lineup is all stand-ups who have served in the military.
- Featuring: Dewayne White, Tim Miller, Monica Daly, Dave McOwen, Haywood Turnipseed. Full bios HERE.
December 15: Prisons and Justice
December’s theme is “incarceration,” tying in with the new exhibit at Lincoln’s Cottage, “Prisons Reimagined: America at 250.” Each comic will share how incarceration affected their life.
- Featuring: Anthony Oakes, Apple Brown Betty, Patrice DeVeaux, Matt Brown. Full bios HERE.
