Most people know that Lincoln’s Cottage, just outside of Brookland, is a gem worth checking out. While it is the only public place where one can get a glimpse into Abraham Lincoln’s public and private life, did you know that it is the only National Monument that doesn’t receive federal funding? That means it must rely on supporters to keep their doors open, and continue their award-winning education programs and preservation efforts. From an email:

Join us from 5pm-9pm at Steel Plate on Tuesday, November 28th. There’ll be drink specials, a raffle with fabulous prizes from local businesses, and Steel Plate is generously donating 10% of the night’s sales to the Cottage.

Check out more information at the event page. Steel Plate is located at 3523 12th Street NE.
