Throughout the month of January, President Lincoln’s Cottage is partnering with the Justice Arts Coalition, a national network providing resources for people creating art in and around the US carceral system, to exhibit works of art created by incarcerated artists. Through their work, these artists have found the space to heal, reconcile, and find a freedom of expression. The art will be exhibited inside President Lincoln’s Cottage from January 7th through January 31st.
An opening reception will take place on January 9, 2020 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Refreshments will be served, attendees will have the opportunity to see and discuss the art, and formerly incarcerated actors and artists will perform poetry written in prison.
