WMAL Radio: A Low-Key Observance at Arlington’s Predecessor

WASHINGTON – (WMAL) While all attention is on Arlington National Cemetery on Memorial Day, there’s a more understated observance happening at that cemetery’s predecessor, in a quiet section of Northwest DC. The United States Soldiers’ and Airmen’s Home National Cemetery is also the final resting place of the Union General who formalized what came to be known as Memorial Day. WMAL’s Steve Burns visited the grounds.
