Hours & Tickets

All tours of President Lincoln's Cottage are guided and require a tour ticket. There are 20 spots available per tour and a limited number of tours per day.

Summer Hours (April 1st – October 31st)

Monday- Saturday
Cottage Tours: 10 AM - 4 PM, on the hour
Visitor Education Center: 9:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Sunday
Cottage Tours: 12 Noon- 4 PM, on the hour
Visitor Education Center: 11:30 AM - 5:30 PM

Winter Hours (Nov. 1st – March 31st)

Monday- Saturday
Cottage Tours: 10 AM-3 PM, on the hour
Visitor Education Center: 9:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Ticket Information

  • Tickets are required and advance purchase is strongly recommended.
  • Arrive 15 minutes before the tour starts to check-in at the Visitor Center. Tours start promptly on the hour.
  • All tours begin in the Robert H. Smith Visitor Education Center.
  • Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
  • Groups of 10 or more are required to make reservations 3 weeks in advance using the following application form: Schedule a Tour. Groups up to 60 can be accommodated.

Same Day Purchase: For advance ticket purchase less than 3 hours prior to a tour, you may call 202-829-0436 x 31231 to check availability. If reserve tickets are available you may purchase with your credit card. All ticket requests more than 3 hours prior to a tour will be directed to call ETIX or reserve via our website. Tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.

Walk-Up Tickets: A limited number of tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis on-site only the day of the tour, as soon as the Visitor Education Center opens for that day. Once walk-up tickets are sold-out, all tours are full. Remember, the only way to guarantee your spot on a tour is to purchase your ticket in advance. NOTE: Walk-up tickets are not offered during schedule group tours or other events.
