Extended Stay for Emancipation Proclamation at President Lincoln's Cottage

This original, signed copy will remain on display at President Lincoln’s Cottage through the end of April.

January 31, 2013. A rare, signed copy of the Emancipation Proclamation currently on display at President Lincoln’s Cottage will remain on view for an additional two months. The exhibition of this historic document in the Robert H. Smith Visitor Education Center at President Lincoln’s Cottage has been extended through April 30, 2013. The extended exhibition of the Emancipation Proclamation will coincide with the 151st anniversary of President Lincoln signing the DC Emancipation Act on April 16, 1862. President Lincoln’s Cottage is the first public venue to display this copy of the Emancipation Proclamation, recently purchased David M. Rubenstein.
